OVERVIEW

The Continental ContiSportContact 3 SSR is a performance and high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

This model is the run flat version of the ContiSportContact 3 tire. This tire was manufactured with the Self Supporting Runflat (SSR) Technology which provides temporary restricted mobility for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph in case of air pressure loss. In case of a puncture or some other tire damage which causes air pressure loss in the tire, the reinforced sidewall supports the weight of the vehicle and its passengers for the given time, enabling the driver to safely arrive at a destination to repair or change the tire. Run flat tires are manufactured for vehicles that do not have space for spare tires and are made from a heavier material than regular tires. They cannot be mixed with regular tires.

The tire is a summer model, which means it has superb dry and wet weather traction. The tire is not recommended for use in winter conditions, as the tread compound loses its traction in the colder temperatures. This model protects against hydroplaning, as the tread grooves channel water from below the tire's footprint. The remarkable summer weather traction and the tire's hydroplaning resistance make this model safer to use in the warm summer months.

The constant road contact of the tire enhances the steering precision and stability. The continuous center rib of the tread pattern improves the handling of the model, offering more control over the tire. The driver is thus able to respond accurately and quickly to the changing road conditions and situations. The braking distance of the tire was also shortened, with the larger footprint and the excellent summer traction, making the tire safer to use. The tire's high speed uniformity was also boosted. It maintains its shape even under the pressure of high speed driving, as its steel belt reinforced structure is more durable. This durability stabilizes the tread and makes maneuvering easier.

The ContiSportContact 3 SSR provides a quiet and comfortable driving experience. The tread design's ribs reduce the road noise heard in the cabin of the vehicle and promote a comfortable drive by improving the tire's continuous road contact.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
