OVERVIEW

The Continental ContiSportContact 5 is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

The tire upgrades the all weather traction. The asymmetric tread design and the durable compound increase the dry and wet weather grip on the road surface. The Black Chilli compound avoids heat build-up along the tread area, as the Black Chilli powder in the rubber materials is heat resistant. The asymmetric tread design keeps surface contact and upgrades the traction in both dry and wet conditions. The tread's wide circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by channeling water away from the tire's footprint. The better traction and hydroplaning resistance improve the summer weather driving safety.

The asymmetric tread design helps enhance the model's controllability. The continuous solid center rib maintains the tire's surface contact at all times, which upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In other words, the structure is stabilized against the high speed pressure affecting the model, while the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver's commands. The special Black Chilli compound and the strengthened lightweight construction work together to increase the high speed durability. The compound prevents heat build-up along the tread area, while the steel belt and nylon structure keep the ideal tire shape under the pressure. This enables the tire to securely perform at its greatest high speed capability.

The ContiSportContact 5 also offers excellent maneuvering by upgrading the cornering and braking ability. The optimal outer shoulder tread block placement enhances the cornering capability. These blocks increase the number of biting edges gripping the road surface throughout the tire's maneuvering. The tire compound features short-chain polymer in its rubber materials, which stabilizes the tread area at the moment of braking. As a result, the tire can create friction between the tire and the road surface, significantly shortening the braking distance and guaranteeing a safer driving experience.

This specific tire is marked with LR as it is the original equipment of Land Rover vehicles.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
