OVERVIEW

The Cosmo El Jefe HT is a highway terrain, all season tire manufactured for SUVs. Cosmo offers a 55,000 mile warranty with this tire model.

Cosmo also offers a road hazard warranty with this tire. Road hazard damage is harm caused to the tire during its performance. It can occur in the form of punctures, bruises, or impact breaks when the tire is driven in normal driving conditions on a federal, state, and/or locally maintained road. Cosmo's road hazard covers the first 25% of the tire's tread life or 1 year from the date of purchase (whichever comes first). The road hazard warranty covers passenger vehicle and SUV sizes and it does not include sizes of the 40 series and below and 21-inch diameters and above. In order to qualify for the road hazard, the tires must be registered with Cosmo within 45 days after the purchase.

The tire improves the year round performance with the tread design and the all season compound. They work together to increase the grip on dry, wet and winter weather road surface conditions. The detailed tread design enhances the number of biting edges gripping the road surface while the tires are in motion with additional biting edges. The compound's year round durability keeps the tire's rubber flexibility in various temperatures. The tread's circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the footprint, keeping the tire's surface contact even in wet and winter conditions, which enhances the all weather driving safety levels.

The tread design also manages to boost the tire's overall controllability. The flat footprint of the symmetric ribbed design closely follows the road surface throughout the drive, which upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. As a result, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver's commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model. The optimal shoulder block placement increases the number of biting edges gripping the road surface, enabling the tire to enhance the cornering and maneuvering capability and power. The detailed siping pattern creates friction between the tire and the road surface at the moment of braking. This friction allows the tire to improve the braking power and shorten the braking distance significantly, resulting in a secure performing capability.

The El Jefe HT greatly upgrades the tread life length. The symmetric ribbed tread design's surface contact upgrades the model's pressure distributing capability. The tread design allows the tire to evenly spread out the forces of acceleration, cornering and braking avoiding irregular wear formations across the tread area. On the other hand, the durable all season compound reduces the tread wear rate. It utilizes the stronger rubber materials, which are wear-resistant to slow the tread wear down. As a result, this combination significantly lengthens the tread life and the tire's usability.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
