OVERVIEW

The Goodyear Excellence is a performance and high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

The special tread pattern and the polymer tire compound work together to increase the dry and wet weather road gripping ability. This excellent summer weather traction guarantees a safer driving experience in all hot temperature conditions and allows the driver to confidently control the vehicle. The wide circumferential and lateral grooves actively resist hydroplaning situations by eliminating water from below the tire footprint. This model, however, is not capable of handling winter weather, as the tire compound does not maintain its flexibility and traction in colder temperatures.

The tire promotes a longer lasting tread life. The unique asymmetric tread pattern increases the tread life and tire usability by preventing irregular wear patterns from forming across the tread area. This is achieved as the tread design equally distributes the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering across the tread area, which prevents the driving pressure from concentrating on one area of the tread. The even distribution of the driving pressure and the asymmetric tread's variable pitch design also lower the road noise heard in the vehicle's cabin. While the tires are in motion, the tread design creates a sound frequency that negates the road noise generated. This guarantees a quiet and increased performing ability.

The Excellence's tread design features a continuous rib and shoulder tread block sequences that enhance the model's controllability. The maintained road contact increases the steering responsiveness and driving stability, which boosts the model's handling. The steering becomes more precise and its response time quicker, while the tire is secured against the driving pressure affecting it. The shoulder tread block sequence also increases the cornering ability and power greatly by providing additional biting edges in maneuvering situations. The polymer tire compound improves the model's braking with its superb traction even in wet weather. The better road grip enables the tire to shorten its braking distance and offer safer driving experience.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
