OVERVIEW

The Hankook i*Pike RW11 is a highway terrain, winter tire manufactured for SUVs and light trucks. This model also has some touring, passenger vehicle sizes available.

The tire has exceptional winter weather traction. It grips the road well on both ice and snow-covered road surfaces. The special winter weather tire compound provides additional grip, while the center tread block, with its unique siping design, maintains road contact on all winter roads. The added optimized stud pins on the tire's shoulders increase the ice road gripping ability. The cliff groove design prevents hydroplaning by eliminating water and slush from the tire footprint. The combination of these elements allows the tire to conquer the harshest winter conditions with ease.

The model sports a wider tire footprint that is 8% wider than previous Hankook winter tires. This, along with the first-rate road gripping ability of the special siping design, upgrades the winter weather braking ability. The wider footprint provides a larger road contact area which sticks the tire to the road. The tire creates friction at the moment of braking along the contact area, which helps shorten the braking distance. The shorter braking distance makes the tire's use safer in snow and on ice.

Even during off-road driving, the tire offers excellent steering responsiveness and controllability. The internal structure's reinforced casing and two steel belts offer an enhanced steering ability. The casing improves the steering stability, which enables a quick and accurate steering responsiveness, and the uphill climbing ability. The wide steel belts ensure that the tire is responsive to the driver's commands and allows them to confidently control the tire in all winter road conditions. As the tire offers a swift and precise steering responsiveness, its controllability is made effortless while off-road driving as well.

The i*Pike RW11 is damage resistant. The reinforced base-tread helps prevent internal damage from impacts happening during off-road driving. The jointless bead wire prevents bead separation when driving on low air pressure or off-road. These upgrades make the driving experience safer, as it lowers the possibility of accidents happening during off-road driving.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
