OVERVIEW

The Hankook Winter i*Pike X is a touring, winter tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

The tire promoted excellent winter weather traction. The directional tread design, with the claw and side edges and the ice slit tread elements, works together with the winter compound to boost the cold temperature, ice, and snow traction. The optimized tread features manage to provide additional biting edges, which enhance the surface grip. The compound keeps the tire pliable even in freezing temperatures. Using the groove placement, the tire is able to increase the hydroplaning resistance in wet conditions.

This model utilizes a special and innovative stud technology. This strategically places optimized studs into the tread. These studs have an empty space at their bottom, which allows the stud to absorb the impact force during the tire's performance. Additionally, like all studs, they also offer extra biting edges, which greatly upgrade the winter weather, ice, and snow traction.

The tread design's surface contact and the special UHT (ultra-high tensile) steel belts maintain the ideal tire shape throughout the drive. This combination ensures the tire's controllability and durability. It maintains the surface contact while the tires are in motion, increasing the steering responsiveness and driving stability. On the other hand, the tire's ideal shape is kept safe, preventing its deformation under the driving pressure. Additionally, the stronger construction also protects the tire from punctures, further improving its performance security.

The Winter i*Pike X uses a highly flexible bead rubber. The ideal bead rubber enables the tire to improve bead durability, which reduces the road vibrations felt by the passengers. This is achieved, as the stronger bead absorbs the driving shock, preventing road disturbances from reaching the vehicle's cabin. In this manner, the tire significantly increases the overall driving comfort levels.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
