OVERVIEW

The Michelin Premier LTX is a touring, all season tire for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Michelin offers a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty with this tire model.

This all season tire model offers excellent all weather traction. The tire's silica and sunflower oil based tread compound, along with the tread design, grips the road well even in lower winter temperatures. The tire's superb tread pattern, thanks to the EverGrip compound and technology, does not lose its traction with wear. Instead, the expanding rain grooves on the ribs in the pattern and the emerging grooves on the shoulders increase the tire's wet traction as the tread wears out. This improves the wet and winter weather tracton of the model, while also enhancing its hydroplaning resistance by channeling water from below the footprint.

The tire's reinforced internal structure offers extra durability and strength at higher speeds. This allows to the tire to maintain its shape without deformity, improving its safety, while also enabling it to handle and carry heavier loads. Its capability to handle heavier loads differs depending on the load index of each tire.

Michelin's Total Performance Technology enhances the model's performing abilities. It shortens the braking distance on all road conditions. This is made possible with the EverGrip Technology, that grips the road more firmly. The tire's continuous center rib also improves the steering responsiveness of the tire. This enhanced precision allows the driver to respond to changing surface conditions quickly and helps provide excellent road feedback at the same time. This increased responsiveness and shortened braking distance make the driving experience safer.

The Premier LTX also has a lowered rolling resistance, which does two things. Firstly, the reduced rolling resistance allows for less fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Secondly, it slows down the wear rate of the tire, as it slightly eases the pressure directed at the tire. This makes the tire environmentally friendly, as well as fuel- and cost-efficient.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
