OVERVIEW

The Sumitomo ST938 is a highway terrain, all season tire manufactured for commercial vehicles. It was made to be mounted on the vehicle's drive axle.

The tire offered great load durability. The reinforced internal structure features four steel belts which maintain the optimal tire shape under the driving and load pressure affecting the tire. This construction does not allow the tire to deform under the pressure, which increases its load carrying and withstanding capability and power. The better load durability enhances the tire's usability as it enables its heavy load performance.

The tread design's flat footprint and solid closed shoulder rib pattern increase the tread life. They optimize the tire's contact with the road surface and upgrade the length of the service life. They manage to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area. The equally circulated forces of acceleration, cornering and braking avoids irregular tread wear formations on the tire's surface, which significantly extends the tread life and the tire's usability.

The ST938 promotes great controllability. The ribbed tread design and the reinforced internal structure work together to increase the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. The steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver's commands with the better and consistent road contact, while the stronger construction stabilizes the structure against the driving pressure affecting the model. Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
