During this process, the tire receives a new tread and sidewall area, which is then cured and shaped into a specific pattern and form. REMOLDED tires are not new, as it is a RETREADING technique. However, remolded tires are the closest to new tires among the retreads. REMOLDED tires are approved by the Department of Transportation and they perform as well as new tires do.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
