The 256GB Aegis Padlock USB 3.0 Hardware-Encrypted Solid State Drive from Apricorn is designed to provide secure data storage within a compact form factor. Equipped with an attached USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A cable that allows data transfer rates up to 5 Gb/s, this 256GB solid-state drive features military-grade FIPS PUB 197 encryption and 256-bit AES-XTS hardware encryption, plus a keypad that allows the drive to be accessed using a unique PIN. The keypad's polymer-coated and wear-resistant design helps to hide key usage from potential hackers. The drive is further protected by a tough epoxy coating, drive reset and auto-lock features, and a self-destruct mode that guards against brute-force attacks. This drive operates using USB bus power and is compatible with most operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux.
